How to Write the Perfect Resume for Hourly Jobs

Functional

The functional format focuses more on skills rather than past experiences. It is also great if you're starting your career and have little-to-no experience in the field.

Combination

Combining these formats in your resume is a smart option for seasoned applicants with a wide range of skills. It's beneficial if the role you're applying for requires experience in different fields.

In the majority of cases, we recommend the chronological layout. It's the most popular format here at Jobs2Careers, and most hourly job recruiters are used to it.

Mention Your Top Soft & Hard Skills

Another essential section in your resume is the skills section. You want to mention how your skills make you the perfect candidate for the job. There are two types of skills you can include when writing your resume:

Hard Skills (Measurable abilities)

This can be anything from coding in Python to knowing how to cook Thai cuisine.

Soft Skills (Personal skills)

These are a mix of social skills, communication skills, personal traits, career attributes, etc.
